I recently made a new eBay account not this account for my Dad and I to sell some coins from our coin collection. In the past my dad had an eBay account he couldn't remember the password or recover it due to an old email and this account I am posting on is my personal account I didn't want to use for our joint collection. I believe it isn't against the policy, and I went ahead and made a new account for us. After reviewing your eBay account, we've noted several concerns with your recent activity.
As a result, we've taken the following action on your account: - Your eBay account has been suspended. A list of removed items is available further down in this email. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm -- however unintentionally -- to the eBay community. While suspended, you won't be able to use eBay. Registering a new account may hinder any option to appeal your account.
If you would like to appeal this action, we need to verify your account information and your eBay activity directly with you. Any outstanding fees owed for selling activity will post to your account as due. Any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.
If you have questions about this message, please click Help at the top of most eBay pages. Okay, I then started a live chat and asked what the issue was. I was informed " As a newly registered user, it is necessary for us to have everyone verified in order to keep the market place safe.
I was asked to provide proof of identity and proof of address, which I did. After approximately 24 hours our account was reinstated and I proptly relisted our items.
A few days later our account is suspended again! I get the same email, and go to start a live chat. No agent would tell me why our account was suspended, they couldn't divulge the reason as it could lead to sellers trying to work around it fair enough, but how else am I meant to explain I haven't intentionally done anything wrong and correct the issue.
I could not appeal as apparently the first suspension was an appeal even though it was "just a part of account confirmation". They say I can no longer use eBay and any other accounts linked will also be suspended, when asking for further details or if there is anyone else to talk to it's just a merry-go-round of generic responses from the agents.
I have gone through the selling policy and I cannot see anything that I could have done wrong. After reading some posts in the forums, the only things I could think of are that in the listings I said "contact us if you have any issues", which could be something?
I believe my PayPal was linked, but do recall seeing something about confirming my account even though I thought I already did.

Inshort, if the debt collection agency is put after me can I simply ignore them without paying them nor eBay or will they pursue with court action?
How much do you owe them? I very much doubt they will go to court then. I suspect you'll get no more than a few calls or letters, probably not even a visit. However you will of course not be able to use eBay again, nor will anyone that eBay believe is associated with you. However, do remember, board guides don't read every post. Meet other eBay community members who share your passions. Hey guys, i'm pretty new and have never bought anything from ebay but have already ran into alot of troubles. So here's my story. After 2 days of frustration dealing with Paypal, ebay just suspended my account for no reason.
I did received an email but they didn't explain the reason nor did they suggest a way to resolve the problem. I wanted laptop for school and on June 4th i placed an order on a surface pro 4. I initially wanted the new surface pro so i canceled it immidiately and the seller accepted my request. On June 5th i found a surface pro which i need and try get it but i could connect to Paypal to pay for it.
So i asked the seller if i could pick it up locally and he removed the instant payment. But before i could make my purchase, ebay suspended my account followed by an email. But now the seller think i'm a scammer because my address is from a different country and my other account was suspended. I did updated my address right away tho Go to Solution. It says on the email you just posted that eBay has security concerns about your account and this is why you are suspended.
What you need to do is contact eBay to work this out. If you don't contact then you will remain suspended. Using a different acount to get around a suspension is a very bad idea.
It's a really good way to get permanently banned. You really should click the link in that message and read the policy on suspended accounts.
View solution in original post. You were an ebay member since April and your ID says you are no longer a registered member. That means your suspension is for life. You created this new ID which will also be suspended as soon as ebay finds it. You can not create new ID's to get around a suspended account.
Alright i'll try to call them. But tbh at this point if i got suspended for life i wouldn't even care. My life was fine before ebay and it'll be fine after. Thanks for visiting Consumerist. As of OctoberConsumerist is no longer producing new content, but feel free to browse through our archives.

One new eBay customer signed up for the site and bought a few things. Kicking customers off the site with no recourse seems counter-intuitive, but eBay does it pretty often. This turned out to be the case: having a TV station on the phone made eBay look more closely at the case, and the company realized that they had mixed her up with an account connected to fraud.
That could be a person at the same address or who used to live at the same address who has been suspended, or someone with a similar name. Want more consumer news? Visit our parent organization, Consumer Reportsfor the latest on scams, recalls, and other consumer issues.

They've suspended my selling account and they said they simply can't tell me why. Just that 'after a review' they've decided that I need to part ways with eBay and just find another selling site.

Obtain an access code from the "contact us" link and fill in the information requested that will direct you to the correct department when you enter the code when calling.
There is a reason, and they will tell you. If they won't tell you - there is a definite reason as well.
Legal advice: Ebay won't close my account.
Your seller account dashboard should speak volumes here if you have been suspended due to performance issues. How old are you? Do you have a legitimate Taxpayer ID? Answer Save. Alan Lv 7. Still have questions?I'm posting on behalf of a friend who's a business seller.
His account has been suspended by Ebay, apparently for 'seller performance below standard'. He has feedback, all positives, no negs, no neuts; stars are 4. His account is going to be reviewed on the 20th October, but since all his items have been removed by Ebay and he can't sell anything, how can he do anything to improve his performance in that time?
And what can he improve anyway? The suspension email highlights the 4. What can he do? To see where the real damage is he needs to look at his seller dashboard but to be honest once suspended there is almost no chance of coming back as a seller. Why dont they post here themsilves? As stated already, likely to be for breaches of policy or a number of buyers have left 'false positives' No disputes, no false positives. He hasn't received the two warnings that I read in another thread that you're supposed to get before a suspension, just the one.
He isn't posting this himself because he's never used a forum before in his life and has no clue how it's done LOL He's in his 60's and has been a small but happy and proficient seller on ebay for many years, longer than me probably. He runs a business selling antique and collectable cards, menus, posters, sporting billings and programs, autographs etc, and uses ebay to sell some of his stock. He's never had to tangle with ebay's customer 'service' or had any problems that he needed help from the forums with, so he's been taken very much by surprise by this.
He rang earlier in a state of utter shock, saying he'd logged in and Ebay had shut his account down, he's pretty upset I think He's always prided himself on being an exemplary seller, with a high number of loyal repeat purchasers. He should have been doing that on a regular basis, it may have drawn something to his attention which could have avoided his current situation.
Sorry about your friend, Starbunny. I'm afraid he's stuffed. Amazing how you can conjure figures up out of thin air that have no substance whatsoever. Had a look at his dashboard, it appears to be item descriptions that's been flagged, it says 1.
I have to say, the more I look at it the more unfair and arbitrary it seems. I love the smallprivate sellers. There will be none left soon. He gave me his login details this morning and asked me to look at everything, so I checked his messages as well as his dashboard.
He thought for sure I'd be able to get to the bottom of it but I don't understand it, this doesn't seem to have been handled properly by ebay at all. Can anyone explain why Ebay will look at his account again in a month, when he can't sell anything? I don't understand this process, nothing seems to make any sense. Ebay won't review the account in another month, he's been permanently restricted, it won't be reversed.
Yes, why? Is that a problem? You're making me worried now. That's where I saw the warning message. Why would they send one to his messages and others NOT appear in his messages but only in his emails? That doesn't make sense. Ebay have stated that they will review the status of account on the 20th October. I agree they're unlikely to change their minds, as he can't trade so he can't do anything to improve his account status, so it does seem pointless, but that's what they have said.

Re: Please respond all of you who have been suspended by ebay wrongly Posted by: Brunhilda In reply to: tuffbarn. Same situation here. After selling on eBay for several years all of a sudden eBay suspended my account due to what they say are "policy violations". I have been trying to find out exactly what it is they think I did so I can respond to the allegations in some way. However, they refuse to tell me what it is that I have been accused of and found guilty of by the powers that be at eBay.
They say it is not their policy to divulge this information. They just throw out allegations and then it is all a deep dark secret. They requested documentation.
